Engineered Garments
Engineered Garments is a testament to following your passion wherever it may take you. Lead designer Daiki Suzuki grew up fishing and cycling through the fields of Northern Japan, but yearned to study fashion in faraway Tokyo after flicking through copies of Popeye magazine in his early teens.
Once he had completed his studies at Vantan Design Institute (working through the night at a printing factory to support himself), he honed his craft by expanding the burgeoning Nepenthes label and eventually settling down for good in the United States. His clothing is made in New York City, the perfect backdrop for a brand that reveres its outdoor roots but is right at home in the urban jungle, best known for its work shirts and range of outerwear. Suzuki still enjoys close relationships with contemporaries at Woolrich and Nepenthes, the latter stocking his first collection in 1999.
